Overview
Callr supports both GSM 7-bit encoding (160 characters per segment) and Unicode UCS-2 encoding (70 characters per segment) for SMS messages. This means you can send messages in any language and character set — including emoji.
Encoding Details
GSM 7-bit: standard Latin characters, digits, and common symbols. 160 characters per message segment. Unicode (UCS-2): full international character set support including Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and emoji. 70 characters per message segment.
Automatic Handling
Callr automatically detects the required encoding based on message content. If your message contains only GSM characters, it uses the more efficient GSM encoding. If it contains Unicode characters, it switches to UCS-2 automatically. Multi-part messages (concatenated SMS) are handled transparently.
